Further afield, within striking distance by road, a rugged coastline offers glorious sandy beaches, including Clachtoll, Achmelvich and Achnahaird. Gruinard Bay on the road to Gairloch and the gloriously isolated Sandwood Bay to the north of Kinlochbervie each provide lovely day-trip destinations.
